Within the scope of Boron Processing and Applications course, we made a trip to ETİ Maden Eskişehir-Kırka facility. After the presentation about ETİ Maden, the mine site, crushing plant and borax pentahydrate production facility were visited and information was given. We would like to thank Mr. Volkan, Mr. Emrullah, Mr. Mehmet and Mr. Abdi, the plant engineers who informed and hosted us during the technical trip to the Kırka plant where borax mineral is processed.
The Mineral Processing Engineering education at the Istanbul Technical University has started as a division of the "Mining Engineering Department" which was formed as a part of the Mining Faculty in 1953. The division was re-organized as a department of the same faculty in 2007, in order to meet the requirements of engineering education.
